Deploy and share a live app
Go live from Build: copy a visitor link, save an optional connection key for outside tools, and know when to use Artifacts instead.

Do you need to go live?
Build → Live is for live software on a Core or Pro workspace: a link you can share, optional APIs, and a private database when you need SQL.
If you only want a simple marketing page on any plan, use Artifacts instead—no upgrade required.
Go live from Build (most common)
- Open Build and work in a folder under build/ (for example build/my-calculator/).
- Click Deploy live app in the studio toolbar.
- When the success panel appears, click Copy link—that is what you send to customers or teammates.
- Open app to verify the page loads in a new tab.
Manage a live app
- Open Build and choose Live, or go to /build?tab=live. /apps redirects here.
- Share & access is where you copy the visitor link, change API privacy, or create a connection key.
Do you need the connection key?
Usually no. Anyone with the visitor link can open your site in a browser without a key.
Your AI agents and workflows inside Smart AI Team also work without a key—they talk to the app internally.
Save the connection key only if an outside tool (Zapier, Make, a developer script) must call your app’s API. Copy it when shown; we display the full secret only once unless you create a new key.
Lost the connection key?
- Open Build → Live, find your app under Share & access, and choose Create new key.
- Copy the new key immediately. The old key stops working.
Private versus open API
Default is private: outside callers need the connection key. Change to open only if you intentionally want a public API (still rate-limited). Adjust this in Build → Live under Share & access.
Starter plan?
Going live with APIs and SQL requires Core or Pro. Upgrade from Usage in your workspace, or publish a static page with Artifacts on your current plan.
