Tasks, pulse, and scheduled work
How tasks relate to agents, what autonomous pulse heartbeats are (paid plans), and how scheduled jobs differ from one-off chat.

Tasks
Tasks are durable work items your team and agents can reference. They complement chat: chat explores, tasks commit to an outcome.
Pulse (heartbeat) — paid plans
- Heartbeats are autonomous: on a schedule, agents can work the board and update tasks without you sending a new prompt each time.
- Starter includes tasks and chat; upgrade to Core or higher to create pulses and scheduled crons.
- Tune frequency so operational value stays higher than notification noise.
Scheduled and recurring jobs
Cron-style schedules run in the workspace runtime on paid plans. They share agent configuration with interactive chat, so policy changes apply everywhere.
If a job must not overlap, enforce that in the task design or external orchestration.
